Today has been one of the best days so far. After leaving Kirkby Stephen, had a long climb and managed to reach Nine Standards after 1 1/2 hrs where had my lunch stop and bumped into the a couple from Essex I hadn't seen since St Bees. The path upto Nine Standards was good and dry but not so easy going down the other side and managed to lose my foot in a bog. The path eventually came down alongside River Swale. Walked with the Essex couple for the rest of the day, stopping off for tea and scones en route. Now in Yorkshire Dales National Park and Keld is the halfway point. There's only a few houses and it's where the C2C crosses the Pennine Way. Staying in Keld bunkhouse tonight - phoned Lynn to wish her a happy 37th wedding anniversary!
